About 'ON ICE'

On Ice was my final project at SAE University College. I was able to pitch an idea for an animated short film based on a script I had written in 2023 and gathered a primary team of 4 to develop my script into a fully animated Sci-Fi thriller short film once the project was greenlit.  

For this project, I assumed the role of creative director and screenwriter. I worked as a lighting artist, fully lighting our environment in Unreal Engine 5, and as an asset artist, creating key assets using Maya and Substance Painter to fill out the environment. I completed some character animation for our character Lola in Unreal Engine 5 and managed all social media as part of our audience testing and marketing strategy.

Lighting

Lighting was done in Unreal Engine 5 using Lumen and a post process volume to adjust colour grading and exposure to create a moody and dangerous atmosphere.

Asset Design

Assets were created in Maya and textured in Substance 3D Painter.

Social Media

I managed all social media as part of our audience testing and marketing strategy. This included posts on both Instagram and Facebook that sought to promote On Ice as well as gather feedback during the audience testing phase of production.
